do you ever disbelieve that someone is really as into something as they make themselves out to be? like that friend that has all the band’s albums, even the singles, even the import versions, and sees them whenever they’re in town, has even traveled to other cities to see them? do you ever just think: “don’t you just need something to obsess about and occupy your time so you won’t think about xyz, and this came along at the right time, and so you glommed onto this, but if it hadn’t been this, it could just as easily have been something else? and sure you like it a whole lot, but mainly because you listen to it a whole lot?”

i just wonder, sometimes.
