My friend Alice just told me that after you have your baby, the hospital is required to show you a video about not shaking your baby. It sounds like what you’d imagine: “Never shake a baby. If you become frustrated, set your baby down and walk away.”
this is true. you can’t leave the hospital until you watch it. so, you’ve just had a baby and you’re exhausted and you want to take your baby home, and they corral all the new parents into a little conference room to watch this video. it’s awful.
